The Lifereef Berlin Systems were one of the first true and complete systems to be introduced for the hobbyist. When others were converting their wet/drys to "berlin systems" we introduced a complete ready-to-go system, and that was back in 1994. This system is the same one being built today, that is how well it was designed, and continues to function. If you want a quiet, efficient, functional, and a versatile sump design, a protein skimmer that performs to perfection, and a low-maintenance system, the Lifereef Berlin Systems cannot be matched!

Want a refugium too? A LifeReefugium can be added to any of the Lifereef Berlin Systems to bring the benefits of a refugium to your aquarium filtration, plus a few models have the LifeReefugium already built into the sump design, see LifeReefugium II and Compact LifeReefugium II.

Notes about all Lifereef Systems.... Overflow Prefilter Box is required for any aquarium not having a built-in overflow, or "reef-ready". An Accessory Rack is included in all Lifereef sumps, where space permits. This Accessory Rack will hold up to three Filter Cylinders and four electronic probes/electrodes. The Filter Cylinders are an optional accessory. A LifeReefugium can be added to any of the Lifereef Systems (if not already designed as such) and come in various sizes as well as custom. A Calcium Reactor can be added to any of the Lifereef Systems and all sumps are pre-drilled/tapped for the necessary connection fittings for your in/out hoses. A 1/4" tapped hole is provided for the connection of an R/O line for direct-to-sump water top-off. And finally: All Lifereef Systems include all hoses, clamps, fittings, even the Teflon tape! You do not need to go to the hardware store to purchase adapters, odd parts, glue, etc. that most other manufacturers seem to leave out or leave you guessing as to how to connect things. Compact Systems area all noted by this light blue shaded background. The CLF1, CLF2 and CLF3 all come with the following: sump, SVS2-24 in-sump skimmer, MagDrive 9 skimmer pump, MagDrive 9 system pump, foam filter element, all hoses, clamps, fittings, Teflon tape. Optional Filter Cylinders can be added at any time and will require a MagDrive 7 pump. A LifeReefugium can be added to any of these systems and will require a pump size increase to the MagDrive 12 to run both aquarium return water and refugium flow.

	CLF2 Compact	Aquariums up to 72" long or 180 gallons	Sump size 30" x 13" x 14"	MagDrive 9 main system pump MagDrive 9 skimmer pump	This compact system is for larger aquariums with a small cabinet. The entire system fits within the 30" x 13" footprint of the sump.
	CLF3 Compact 72 Bowfront	Made for 72 gallon bowfront aquariums	Sump size 30" x 9" x 14"	MagDrive 9 main system pump MagDrive 9 skimmer pump	This compact system has been requested so many times for the narrow cabinet space of the 72 gallon bowfront aquariums that we made it a standard model! All the same features as our fantastic CLF1 Compact but in a longer and narrower sump format. Of course this will work on any aquarium up to 6 feet long.
	OPTIONAL coil chiller chamber on left side of CLF1/CLF2 sumps	This feature adds a dedicated chamber on the left where incoming water flows to the bottom of the sump (under water to reduce noise/splash) then upwards past a drop-in chiller coil (chiller not supplied). This will add 4" to the CLF1 sump length making it 28" long. It can also be incorporated into the CLF2 keeping the overall length to 30" or if space permits up to a 34" long sump.. This optional feature can be added to any of the LF1 Series of sumps.
	OPTIONAL LifeReefugium shown on CLF1	The LifeReefugium can be added at any time to your CLF1 or CLF2 system. A single water pump returns water to the aquarium AND to the LifeReefugium. The Compact LifeReefugium II comes with the following: sump, SVS2-24 in-sump skimmer, MagDrive 9 skimmer pump, MagDrive 12 system/refugium supply pump, 12 x 12 in-sump LifeReefugium, 12" Coralife Light Canopy, foam filter element, all hoses, clamps, fittings, Teflon tape. Optional Filter Cylinders can be added at any time and will require a MagDrive 7 pump.
	CLR-II Compact LifeReefugium II	An all-in-one sump/skimmer/refugium	Sump size 36" x 13" x 14" Refugium size 12" x 12" x 18"	MagDrive 9 main system pump MagDrive 9 skimmer pump	This Compact Berlin System with "floating" LifeReefugim has it all! In-Sump protein skimmer, engineered sump design, separate drop-in LifeReefugium, and main system pump! Main system pump provides aquarium return water and LifeReefugium water flow. The LF1 Series all come with the following: sump, VS2-24 protein skimmer, BlueLine 30HDX skimmer pump, BlueLine 40HDX system pump, System Manifold, foam filter element(s), all hoses, clamps, fittings, Teflon tape. Optional Filter Cylinders can be added at any time and are operated off the system pump. The LF1S Series come with same as above but with the SVS2-24 in-sump protein skimmer and MagDrive 9 skimmer pump. A LifeReefugium can be added to any of these systems and will require a pump upsize to the BlueLine 70HD to run the aquarium return water, LifeReefugium water supply, and the optional Filter Cylinders.
